Hardware is hard!

The hardware working is a big part of the hospital project. When every setting steps finished, it does not work well, that is hardware. How about your version?

We've got SMD file, need run the software with HL environment, changing it into QC code, then combine them all together. That would be today's work, but we got stuck on the hardware working.

Vuzix VR920, the backup glasses for us. When the first settings happen, make sure adjust the screen pixel as 600x800, and 60 Hz, and the sensor box will be selected, that means without mouse. But everything is done, it just could control the screen but the game. Then change the game path will help. But it is unstable, so try to install Glovepie 0.3 (E-magin Z800, it is 600x800, and 60 Hz as well, and make sure the mirror selected.)

Wii remote: Reset the button into mouse button, it worked well in HL. But the back direction control is not comfortable. Solved the problem that how to separate the long and the short press, and defined every useful button as keyboard character.

The PC problem: Hard disk can not be found. We can not get into the system even BIOS, maybe because of the bad disk, the cable or the connect point. Then borrowed another PC, put the disk as the move disk for it, found it. So the disk is good. Lee do not need rebuild the map, Jovi is a lucky star.

Round Stairs.

1. Watched the record last time，everyone focus on the foot, expect changing somewhere, but no one focus on the video and the screen on the wall, so if just keep the top projector for the floor view, maybe the power of the work can be concentrated. But if the shadow of people will influence the show? Or change to two project on the floor slantways, or using the mirror to reflect on the floor, what happens?

2. Why keep the stair element? Stair has 2 property, one is up, another is down. That means one is searching out, another is back to your heart. This just tallies with the question about virtuality and truth. If we choose to continue the exploration, or choose to back to the nature? Contradiction as well.

3. Concept talk: Let people go into the stair game, with interaction, then people could think the value of this works. Whirl, is a good point for this game, lost into the virtual world, what the next step? does the game stop? how and when? according to what?

4. Sound problem: If using live steps sound, input the laptop and change into echo, then output to speakers. To catch the steps sound is question one and the feedback of the sound is question two. Maybe a mini microphone could be sticked on the shoes of the volunteer. Or if I put 4 microphone on the edge of the screen, what happens?

5. Now I've done a Patch for Bang signal startup by the sound intensity. Stair rotation direction is a problem. That is a square stair, if let a square rotate, people can not match the steps on the stairs. If change to a circle, maybe better. But, if the optical illusion could build a circle stair by 3D model? Or it can just be made by graphic? Ascher's works have some different model I could choose.

Why your idea have not kept from beginning? Optical illusion.... and how to make the feeling like that we are into a virtual world. Can you think about the relationship between the element? Not just collection. We need interactive and experience.

I have made a patch like recording the steps sound, when the frequency up to right range, there is a bang. It can be used to open or make the video quick or slow.

Some modify brain storm:

1. According to the changing direction from the performer, the optical illusion picture will change by 90 degree， seems as the relativity move.

2. the frequency of move control the color changing, quick=red, slow=blue.

3. Using iWear VR920 to make an experience as going up stairs. Make a map in SL ？

4. If it could be separated into up and down stairs video, during people change the direction.

5. Think about how to make interaction between people and optical illusion? and make the show fun.

6. If focusing on the cycle, what will happen to build a clear topic?

Technology choose and test.... Delete the useless elements.

List why it can not be build, because of the tech. or the topic?
